Kip Childs, 1st Assistant Chief

Kip Childs became a member of the Tooele City Fire Department in March of 2006.  Kip has held the following positions within the department: Firefighter, Lieutenant, Safety Officer, Fire Inspector, and now as 1st Assistant Chief.

Kip is certified Firefighter I.  He is also EMT-B and HAZWOPER certified and serves as Fire Rescue Response team with his current employer.

As 1st Assistant Chief, he is in charge of the training, hazmat, safety, and the house committee. 

Kip is a lifelong Tooele resident.  He and his wife Debbie are the proud parents of four children.  In their spare time, Kip enjoys traveling with his wife, golfing, and spending time with their grandkids.  Kip looks forward to serving the Tooele community and the Department.
